The Tel Aviv Heat is proud to announce the signing of 22-year-old front rower Ethan Jeffery to the front row, where he will add 190cm and 120kg of physical presence to the front row.
Ethan has a unique skill set, having the frame for a front rower and the skills of a 7’s player to earn a spot in the Bulls High Performance 7’s squad in 2017. Ethan’s rugby journey after school began at WITS where he propped for the WITS U19A team that won the Pirates Grand Challenge. Ethan progressed to the Junior Lions Currie Cup Squad as well as moving across to University of Johannesburg (UJ) to join their Senior Varsity Cup squad while playing for the junior Lions, both U19 and U21.
Ethan has spent the last four years playing senior varsity cup for UJ, most recently in the Valke Senior Currie Cup team where he helped his team make the semi finals in the tough competition.
The Tel Aviv Heat looks forward to Ethan stamping his authority in Europe.
Kevin Musikanth on Ethan Jeffery signing for the Tel Aviv Heat:
“Ethan has huge potential as a front rower. At 22 years old he already has all the physical attributes required. He has a good work ethic as well. The fact that he has been linked to good sevens teams means that he has skills on top of physicality which will blend in well with the type of attacking game that attack coach Demetri Catrakilis has in store for our team. I look forward to working with Ethan and helping facilitate his development into being the top prop that he is destined to become…”
