Versatile prop Jared Sichel has committed his rugby services to The Tel Aviv Heat for the upcoming Rugby Europe Super Cup season.
In a rugby career spanning 20 years, Jared excelled at Glenwood High School in Durban, South Africa, as part of the 2008 Sanix World Schools championship team in Japan before progressing to the Boland Rugby Academy, into the u21 Sharks Academy, and the premiership Kwa-Zulu Natal (KZN) Club Durban Collegians.
In six seasons with Collegians, Sichel played over 50 games at both loosehead and tighthead prop, winning two KZN premiership titles, a Murray Cup, and earning a slot in the National Club Competition in SA, The Gold Cup.
In 2017 Sichel found himself in the Western Cape where he joined Super League Club Hamiltons RFC, the oldest rugby club in South Africa, where he has been part of the first team. Late in 2017 Jared found himself as an International when he was capped in the Israeli National Team.
Jared sees himself as a sociable, genuine team guy and attributes his rugby success to his coaching mentors, namely Sean Erasmus (school coach), Robin Swanepoel (Club Coach) and Kevin Musikanth (International Coach) all of whom taught him to believe in himself and to reach for the stars.
