Misaele Petero is making the long trip from Fiji to bring his skills and athleticism to the Tel Aviv Heat backline for the upcoming Super Cup tournament.
At 188cm and over 100kg, Misaele is a formidable outside back. His electric pace and extensive skill set has earned him a spot representing Suva, Fiji’s high profile provincial rugby team over the last few years.
Petero has been playing rugby since he was 8 years old, progressing through high school and playing in the national competition Fiji Rugby National Deans Competition (FRNDC) for the Lomary High School rugby team. The Covenant Brothers Ministry has provided steadfast support for Misaele throughout his rugby career, helping to shape his self-belief, physicality and mental toughness.
Petero prides himself on physicality on the field and is relishing the opportunity to get a shot at European rugby with The Tel Aviv Heat. As a young man he has been impressive in the Suva provincial club and has been on the winning side in the Skipper Competition for two years in a row now.
Off the field, Misaele sees himself as a deeply spiritual person that has drawn strength and fortitude from his faith to guide him through his career.
Sevens legend, Waisale Serevi, recognized Misaele as a standout player and selected him to join a prestigious invitational team which played in a high profile sevens tournament In Fiji.
The Tel Aviv Heat welcomes Misaele into the franchise and looks forward to his electric pace on the field.
