Talented Cape Town born Divan Enslin has signed on to bring his skills and power at outside centre to the Tel Aviv Heat Franchise for the inaugural Rugby Europe Super Cup.
Following a tough, traditional rugby trajectory in the Western Cape, Divan has been earmarked for great rugby honours from a very young age. Divan earned a slot in the senior First XV for the world famous Paarl Boys High School in both his Grade 11 and Matric years, no mean feat, considering Paarl has produced many Springboks and traditionally is one of the top 5 ranked rugby schools in the country.
Divan went on to play for WP u19 and u21 in the Currie Cup and for the Stellenbosch University Young Guns Team in the Varsity Cup in addition to being selected for representative rugby as part of the South Africa 7’s Academy team.
A trademark outside centre with an eye for the gap and very strong defense is likely to turn heads when the Tel Aviv Heat first takes the field in October.
Divan Enslin on signing for the Tel Aviv Heat:
“It was a big shock for me with COVID stopping all sports last year. But with every setback comes a comeback. I had some great coaches working with me this past year, namely Frankie Horn and Philip Snyman. I also look up to them as rugby players. I’m extremely excited to join the Tel Aviv Heat and can’t wait to get back on the field with the boys and make an impact in this exciting competition in Europe…”
Frankie Horne on Divan Enslin:
“ Divan is one of the most professional and coachable players I have yet to work with. A very dedicated, committed and classy player. He is really good at what he does and effective in any team structure. Divan is a great asset to any team…”
